What you’ll need to succeed as a Vertical Business Development Executive at XPO

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 4 years of sales experience
  • Proven success in B2B sales, preferably within transportation or logistics industries.
  • Strong consultative selling, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to uncover customer needs and position tailored solutions.
  • Experience with Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 75% of the time to support customer engagement, industry events, and strategic sales initiatives.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Prospect and engage Enterprise and National Accounts to uncover new business opportunities tied to the rapid expansion of data center infrastructure investments across North America.
  • Develop deep subject matter expertise in the data center ecosystem, including the transportation and logistics challenges associated with construction materials, equipment, and supply chain support.
  • Identify and win new logos within this high-growth vertical by leveraging XPO’s LTL network, premium service offerings, and operational capabilities.
  • Partner closely with existing account owners and sales leaders to uncover hidden opportunities within current customer portfolios and connect with the right stakeholders driving data center initiatives.
  • Act as a strategic overlay resource to Enterprise and National Sales team by articulating XPO’s value proposition and differentiators within the data center supply chain space.
  • Represent XPO’s nationwide network, premium services, and customer-focused solutions to senior decision makers across enterprise organizations.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline through proactive prospecting, relationship development, market intelligence, and CRM discipline.
  • Track sales activity, pipeline progression, and market insights within CRM tools while sharing best practices and industry intelligence across the broader sales organization.

New York annual salary range: $116,587 to $145,734

California annual salary range: $116,587 to $145,734

Washington State annual salary range: $111,518 to $139,398

Maryland annual salary range: $111,518 to $139,398

Minnesota annual salary range: $101,380 to $126,725

Illinois annual salary range: $106,449 to $133,062

New Jersey annual salary range: $116,587 to $145,734

Vermont annual salary range: $101,380 to $126,725

Massaschusetts annual salary range: $111,518 to $139,398

Columbus,Ohio annual salary range: $101,380 to $126,725
