This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work closely with the UK Finance team and play an important part in ensuring the quality and integrity of our tax processes.<br><br>Functionally, this role sits within the Institutional Tax team and reports directly to Chief Financial Officer, Eurpoe based in UK. You’ll also work in partnership with the Head of Tax, Europe & America. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.<br><br><strong>Role Type: </strong>Permananet, Full Time<br><br><strong>Role Location: </strong>London, UK<br><br><strong>What will your day look like?<br><br></strong>As Tax Manager, UK, you will:<br><br><ul><li>Own and manage UK tax compliance obligations, including corporate tax returns, filings, tax provisioning, and group reporting for annual and half year submissions.</li><li>Act as the primary UK tax contact for Finance, ensuring tax related accounts are accurately understood and maintained.</li><li>Manage and perform indirect tax compliance and support UK aspects of transfer pricing requirements.</li><li>Provide commercial and technically supportable UK tax advice on business matters, new products, and transactions, escalating complex or non-standard issues as appropriate.</li><li>Manage relationships with external advisers and UK tax authorities, including audits and information requests.</li><li>Monitor UK tax legislation and regulatory developments, identifying and communicating relevant impacts to stakeholders.</li><li>Support the Head of Tax, Europe & America on technical and operational matters as required.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>What will you bring?<br><br></strong>To be successful in this role, you will bring:<br><br><ul><li>Solid UK tax experience, with a strong preference for in-house UK tax roles.</li><li>Prior UK accounting firm training, ideally to Manager level, followed by in-house experience.</li><li>Strong UK corporate tax compliance background, with the ability to independently manage returns, provisions, and related processes.</li><li>Sound, commercial UK tax advisory capability across day-to-day business matters.</li><li>Working knowledge of UK tax accounting, including current and deferred tax concepts and interaction with finance teams.</li><li>Relevant professional qualifications (ACA, CTA, CPA or equivalent).</li><li>This role will suit someone who values technical depth, continuity, and hands-on responsibility.<br><br><br></li></ul>You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills.
