The Staff Accountant is to be an integral member of operational accounting to include receipts, customer billings, month/qtr/year-end close, and other period-close related tasks.

The Staff Accountant is crucial to our success in this mission, by ensuring SoundHound has needed stable, accurate billings and monthly/quarterly/annual close processes in place to scale and expand our global reach.

In this role you will:

  • Maintain billing and invoicing
  • Assist in daily general ledger operations
  • Assist with monthly close process and reconciliations such as accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, lease accounting, various assets and liabilities, and other areas
  • Collaborate with FP&A and other cross-functional departments to ensure completeness of accruals
  • Support scaling our processes through automation by working on system implementations and enhancements
  • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Perform other ad hoc accounting activities when needed

We would love to hear from you if:

  • Accounting Degree (preferred)
  • 1-3+ years’ experience (preferred)
  • Strong ability to independently apply accounting principles and procedures
  • Adept with account reconciliations and investigating unusual or significant differences
  • Obsessively detail-oriented and leaves nothing to chance
  • Comfort working with teams prior to establishment of mature processes
  • Driven desire to identify and help improve accounting processes, controls and products
  • Strong Excel skills
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with accounting/financial reporting at a SaaS company
