The culture is professional, measured and built on trust and accountability. </p><p> </p><p><strong>The Role</strong> </p><p><strong>Senior Accountant to Senior Manager (Practice Lead)</strong> </p><p>This role is suited to an experienced public practice accountant operating at senior accountant or manager level, who is comfortable taking responsibility for client relationships and contributing at a senior level within the practice. </p><p>You will manage a significant client portfolio end to end, oversee compliance and advisory work, and act as a trusted delegate within Vertex Wealth. The role will be structured to reflect your experience, with scope to take on broader responsibility over time. </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong> </p><ul><li>Managing a portfolio of SME and private group clients </li><li>Reviewing financial statements and company income tax returns </li><li>Providing tax advisory support, including structuring and tax optimisation </li><li>Working across areas such as Division 7A, CGT, FBT and trust distributions </li><li>Managing workflow, deadlines and quality standards </li><li>Reviewing work and supporting junior team members </li><li>Contributing to steady improvements in systems and practice processes </li><li>Liaising closely with the Director and the wider group, including R&D Tax and SMSF Audit </li></ul><p>This is a senior role focused on quality, consistency and professional standards. </p><p> </p><p><strong>About You</strong> </p><p>You are an experienced public practice accountant who values responsibility, clear expectations and a stable working environment. You’re comfortable managing clients, making decisions and maintaining high standards, while working collaboratively within a small, professional team. </p><p><strong>Required Experience</strong> </p><ul><li>Strong experience in Australian public practice </li><li>Proven capability managing SME and private group clients </li><li>End-to-end ownership of compliance engagements and client relationships </li><li>Confidence communicating with clients on technical and commercial matters </li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong> </p><ul><li>Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related discipline </li><li>CA or CPA qualification </li></ul><p><strong>Desirable Experience</strong> </p><ul><li>Tax advisory and structuring for more complex client groups </li><li>Reviewing work and mentoring junior accountants </li><li>Experience with multi-entity structures and higher-value portfolios </li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Remuneration, Progression & Alignment</strong> </p><p>Remuneration for this role will be structured to reflect experience, capability and the level of responsibility assumed within the practice.
