WHAT YOU WILL DO Growing, better for you food manufacturer is hiring for a Regional Sales Manager - West! This Sales Manager will report to the Sr. Director of Sales- West and is responsible for leading customer strategy, building relationships, and ensuring flawless execution of the brand at Raleys, Gelsons, Harmons, Smart & Final, Lucky/Save Mart, and other grocery and natural customers. This role will facilitate internal cross-functional collaboration to grow our business in this territory. Additionally, this role will be responsible for selling, trade planning, demand planning, and marketing all retail categories of products under the brand in the West US region. This territory is defined as Pac NW, California, and Rocky Mountain area. And this is how you'll do it... • Develop sales plan and business strategy with the Sr. Director of Sales- West. • Translate sales plan into clear and executable plans. • Utilize data and broker relationships to grow distribution and SKU assortment across key regional customers. • Establish, manage, and grow direct, strategic relationships with key customers through category reviews, business reviews, and providing meaningful insights. • Effectively lead brokers and merchandisers by providing clear goals and direction. • Support the execution and management of budget, trade spend, forecasting, T&E, and reporting. Knowledge of Vividly is a plus. • Ensure execution of new product launches, promotions, secondary placements, and in-stock levels. • Identify and pioneer programs within retailers to drive trial and awareness. • Work with broker partners and internal Insights team to understand and manage Distribution, Voids, In-stock Levels, Pricing/Promotion, and Display Compliance. • Build a deep understanding of the dynamics of the territory, provide insight and direction to develop solutions to build the brand. • Be a visible presence in market with frequent in person store checks and "ride-alongs" with broker partners. Cross Functional • Collaborate with Sales Planning, Revenue Management, Supply Chain and Sales Operations to execute forecast and sales plan. • Proactively communicate with Shopper Marketing and the Sr. Director of Sales- West to coordinate display programs, promotional programs, and proactively solve issues that create executional challenges. • Collaborate with Category & Insights team to identify trends, competitors, and key opportunities for brand development and improved execution. • Identify and communicate merchandising and shopper marketing programs with marketing counterparts. • Assist finance team with trade management and deduction back up to manage trade. Keyword: sales, cpg, food manufacturer, grocery channel, west coast Required Experience: • 5+ years experience in retail sales and merchandising in the CPG industry. • Established relationships and experience calling directly on key West Coast Grocery and Natural Customers. • Currently working at an equivalent position within the retail food class of trade. • Proven and successful sales track-record. • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills. A believer that it takes a whole cross-functional team to achieve bold goals. You are not a lone wolf. • Experience in planning and executing a sales and trade budget. • Strong background in broker management. • Experience with syndicated data, particularly SPINS, and the ability to interpret data and create compelling customer presentations. • Knowledge of the natural/organic industry and BFY space. • Excellent communication skills with external customers, peers, supervisors, and internal supporting departments. • Ability to travel for trade shows, sales calls, and meetings - approximately 30% of travel. • Experience and proficiency with arenaflex Office programs.
