The role involves designing and optimizing prompts for AI voice agents to enhance patient experiences and call center workflows in healthcare settings. Responsibilities • Design, test, and optimize prompts for AI-powered voice agents to improve call center workflows and patient experience • Inbound and outbound use cases for appointments scheduling and rescheduling, prescription refills, password resets, Patient surveys, Billing and several others • Integrate conversational AI with call center systems (e.g., SIP, IVR, telephony, EHR/EMR) • Monitor performance of deployed prompts and voice agents, leveraging analytics to enhance accuracy, tone, and efficiency • Develop reusable prompt frameworks tailored for healthcare and patient support scenarios (e.g., appointment scheduling, triage, billing inquiries) • Work closely with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to refine LLM behavior in real-time call environments • Ensure compliance with privacy, data security, and healthcare regulations • Provide ongoing enhancements and training for AI agents to handle edge cases, escalate appropriately, and improve overall call outcomes Skills • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, AI/ML, or related field (Master's preferred) • Direct healthcare provider experience — you understand hospital and clinic workflows, patient communication, and provider-side requirements • 3–5+ years of experience in prompt engineering, conversational AI, or voice agent/call support development with real-world use cases • Hands-on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, etc.), NLP frameworks, and voice AI platforms • Familiarity with call center technologies (SIP, IVR, Voice Telephony, Dialogflow, arenaflex Connect, Genesys, or similar) • Strong background in healthcare provider environments, including HIPAA compliance and EHR/EMR integrations • Experience with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript) and API integrations • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams • Proven track record working in a hospital, clinic, or provider setting • Prior experience designing conversational flows for patient scheduling, insurance verification, or clinical triage • Knowledge of healthcare standards like HL7, FHIR, or Epic/Cerner integrations • Experience in measuring and improving speech recognition accuracy and naturalness of AI responses • Exposure to contact center analytics, sentiment analysis, and call optimization • Demonstrated success in deploying voice agents or call support solutions in healthcare or patient service environments Company Overview • BigRio is a technology consulting firm empowering data to drive innovation and advanced analytics.
