This role will drive the consolidation of our hardware portfolio under the Genius brand, ensuring a unified merchant experience across SMB, retail, and enterprise channels.</p><p></p><p>The Product Manager will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Payments, Marketing, Sales, Support, and Certification teams, while managing global ODM partners on design, production, and certification. Responsibilities include defining product requirements, managing roadmaps, enabling go-to-market readiness, and overseeing product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life.</p><p></p><p>The ideal candidate brings 5–7+ years of product management experience in POS, payments, or IoT hardware, with strong technical acumen, proven success in managing offshore partners, and the ability to translate merchant needs into innovative, market-ready solutions.</p><p></p><p><b>Summary of This Role</b></p><p></p><p>The Product Manager – POS & Payment Devices provides direction for the development, launch, and lifecycle of <span>in-store hardware solutions</span> including handhelds, kiosks, POS terminals, and embedded payment peripherals. This role builds on existing product ideas and develops new hardware platforms informed by industry trends, merchant needs, and customer insights. By consolidating and innovating under the <span>Genius brand</span>, the Product Manager advances business objectives, enhances merchant experiences, and drives profitability across retail, restaurant, and SMB channels.</p><p></p><p>The role requires close collaboration with <span>marketing, sales, engineering, payments, certification, support, and procurement teams</span>, as well as external ODM and vendor partners. The Product Manager also engages with senior management and key enterprise customers to align solutions with market demand, regulatory requirements, and long-term growth strategies.</p><p></p><h2><b>What Part Will You Play?</b></h2><p></p><p>As Product Manager – POS & Payment Devices, you will lead the process from <span>hardware product development through launch and lifecycle management</span>, ensuring execution aligns with business objectives, merchant needs, and project plans for complex, multi-channel product initiatives. You will have responsibility for the <span>roadmap, business case, and profitability</span> of assigned devices, including handhelds, kiosks, POS terminals, and embedded payment peripherals.</p><ul><li><p><span>Product Roadmap & Strategy</span> – Own, manage, and communicate the roadmap for assigned hardware devices; and device management (MDM) platforms, conduct competitive analysis; and collaborate with sales, engineering, payments, and customer success teams to prioritize features, manage delivery costs, and optimize market positioning.</p></li><li><p><span>Go-to-Market Execution</span> – Develop go-to-market packaging and launch strategies in partnership with product marketing, sales enablement, and dealer channels. Define pricing strategies for new and existing hardware solutions, balancing competitive positioning, merchant value, internal costs, and adoption targets.</p></li><li><p><span>Business Case Development</span> – Build comprehensive business cases that assimilate technical, financial, and customer insights to inform decision-making, prioritization, pricing, and long-term product value. Present recommendations to senior leadership for approval and investment.</p></li><li><p><span>Cross-Functional Leadership</span> – Partner with engineering, QA, IT, legal, procurement, marketing, and payments teams to define product goals, requirements, and certification milestones. Exercise independent judgment to determine methods and approaches for managing product strategy.</p></li><li><p><span>Market Research & Insight</span> – Lead structured and repeatable market research processes including industry analyst reports, merchant surveys, pilot feedback, and competitive benchmarking. Translate findings into actionable insights that inform roadmap decisions and hardware innovation.</p></li><li><p><span>Merchant & Partner Engagement</span> – Facilitate requirements workshops with merchants, dealers, and enterprise clients to validate hardware needs and ensure solutions meet expectations for functionality, reliability, and compliance. Document workshop outputs in the form of detailed and executive PRDs for both technical and executive audiences.</p></li><li><p><span>Delivery & Certification</span> – Collaborate with technology architecture, ODM partners, and certification bodies (PCI, EMV L1, L2, L3, FCC, CE, UL) to validate designs, direct testing, and support delivery teams throughout execution. Provide guidance to ensure product objectives, merchant experience, and compliance requirements are consistently met.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What Are We Looking For in This Role?</b></p><p></p><h3><b>Minimum Qualifications</b></h3><ul><li><p><span>Bachelor’s or Master's degree</span> in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management or MBA (or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience).</p></li><li><p><span>6–8+ years of product management experience</span>, ideally in POS hardware, payments, IoT devices, or related in-store technology.</p></li><li><p>Proven experience bringing <span>hardware products from concept to market</span> (roadmap, prototyping, testing, launch, lifecycle).</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated ability to work with <span>offshore OEM/manufacturing partners</span>, BOMs, NREs, and certification cycles (e.g., PCI, EMV, CE/FCC/UL).</p></li><li><p><span>Strong external-facing experience with </span>merchants, enterprise clients, dealers/resellers, or channel partners<span>.</span></p></li><li><p>Track record of <span>cross-functional leadership</span>, driving alignment across engineering, QA, marketing, sales, legal, procurement, and support.</p></li><li><p>Technical acumen with the ability to <span>translate merchant and market needs into product requirements</span> and engineering deliverables.</p></li></ul><p></p><h2><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></h2><ul><li><p>Experience in a <span>software development or hardware-software integration environment</span>, especially within payments, POS, or IoT and edge device ecosystems.</p></li><li><p><span>Background in </span>embedded systems, firmware, or payment software integration<span> alongside hardware product management.</span></p></li><li><p>Familiarity with <span>Agile methodologies</span> and experience delivering hardware and software roadmaps in parallel.</p></li><li><p><span>Direct experience with </span>device testing, certification cycles (PCI, EMV, CE/FCC/UL), and compliance-driven product delivery.</p></li><li><p>Professional services or client-facing experience, particularly in supporting <span>enterprise retail or restaurant deployments.</span></p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of <span>omni-channel ordering and payment flows</span>, including mobile, kiosk, handheld, and in-store POS integrations.</p></li><li><p>Ability to bridge <span>technical, operational, and business needs</span>, aligning merchant requirements with engineering execution and go-to-market strategy.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What Are Our Desired Skills and Capabilities?</b></p><ul><li><p>Skills / Knowledge - Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
