Aligns business requirements with business architecture concepts such as value streams, capabilities, stakeholders, business strategy, and initiatives. This involves working collaboratively to ensure the business architecture reflects the reality of the business. Collaborates and manages relationships across business units to clarify stakeholder concerns. Facilitates the mitigation of concerns through establishing causality and identifying business critical straight-line links between elements in the business architecture. Architects the implementation alignment of business unit strategies, the delivery alignment of business change/initiatives, and the performance alignment of the business operations using business architecture visual modeling and design tooling. Depicts the business such that strategies and goals are clearly articulated, management decisions are based on facts, transformations are focused on business priorities, and issues to be addressed are based on clarity and facts. Additional responsibilities may include specifying clear business intentions that can be supported by information technology (IT) from an enterprise architecture perspective. Essential Functions • Engages with requirements analysts to address the root cause of capability gaps and to move the capability toward its future state • Aligns business requirements to the business vocabulary defined within the business architecture body of knowledge • Communicates business strategy and the desired value delivery and capability outcomes • Advises executives on available options to satisfy customer demand during decision making using the business architecture • Actively collaborates with Solution Architects through capability mapping to application architecture to provide business and IT with a concise set of conceptual business/IT mappings that can be driven down to a significant degree of detail and, as a result, provide insights into design, transformation, modernization, and automation options • Involved in the creation and utilization of standardized architectural communications and templates • Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, software engineering, information systems, operations research, computer science, or related quantitative discipline . Certified Business Architect (CBA)®, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)® Enterprise Architecture Practitioner, Graduate Certificate in Business Architecture or other related architecture certification or status. Minimum Experience Four (4) years’ work experience in applying business architecture principals and progressively elaborating and identifying courses of action within the boundaries of one or more portfolio. Extensive knowledge and experience in the application of business architecture within strategy execution, an enterprise operating model, and customer experience design. Proven track record of establishing business architecture and enterprise architecture framework alignment. More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Ability to visually represent the architecture, design, and implementation of complex software systems through Unified Modeling Language (UML) class diagrams • Demonstrated expertise in modelling and managing complex information for individuals, groups, and large organizations with architecture tooling (e.g., Sparx Enterprise Architect, IRIS Business Architect, etc.) • Direct experience producing business capability health assessments through strict adherence to principles and guidelines of BIZBOK, TOGAF or Capability-Based Planning frameworks • A compelling track record of producing gap analysis reports for global and cross portfolio initiatives that compare the current state and desired future state of the business and identifies the gaps in such a way to align with digital transformation frameworks (e.g., knowledge of The Business Model as defined by the Feld Group Institute and methods of achieving short-term results and long-term vision is desired) • Fluent in the usage and application of strategic frameworks and tools such as the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework, Norton Kaplan Strategy Map, Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model, Business Motivation Model (BMM), Hoshin Kanri, SWOT Analysis, and Ansoff Product/Market Grid • Business and customer focus mindset, able to articulate complex regulatory and legal requirements and propose compliance options that minimize costs to the business and adverse impacts to the customer experience • Ability to delineate products purchased by third party customers using multidimensional views of product lines (e.g., parcel, freight, domestic, international, residential recipient, commercial recipient, branded packaging, business essentials) aligned to product families (e.g., shipping, packaging, printing, subscription services) and able to qualify product entitlements (e.g., money back guarantee, warranties). .
