Job Title: PART-TIME AWS Administrator (US-Based, Startup Environment)

Location: Remote (Must be physically located in the United States)

About Us:
We are an early-stage startup building a secure, scalable financial technology platform. As we expand, we’re looking for an AWS Administrator who can help us manage and optimize our cloud infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment and wants to have a direct impact on product stability, performance, and growth.

This is a part-time, on-call AWS Administrator role. The position will require a maximum of 1–10 hours per month, depending on platform needs. Hours are not guaranteed each month and will vary based on demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure including EC2, S3, Route 53, and CloudFront.
  • Configure and monitor load balancing for high-availability applications.
  • Implement and maintain authentication via Amazon Cognito.
  • Ensure security best practices are followed across all AWS resources.
  • Collaborate with developers to support deployment pipelines and application scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AWS-related issues quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls and external regulations related to cloud infrastructure.

Tech Stack You’ll Support:

  • Frontend: React, Material UI, custom themes.
  • Backend: Node.js, Express, MySQL, DynamoDB, Python.
  • Authentication: Amazon Cognito (Hosted UI).
  • AWS Services: EC2 (with load balancing), S3, Route 53, CloudFront.
  • Integrations: Stripe, Heap.

Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking, load balancing, and DNS (Route 53).
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and cloud security best practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and supporting development teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be an individual (no agencies or firms).
  • Must be physically located in the United States (due to patent-related protections).
  • Must have authorization to work in the US. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in startup or fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with fintech integrations (e.g., Stripe, MX).
