<strong>About The Role<br><br></strong>Our <strong>Balfour Beatty Highways </strong>business has a terrific opportunity for a<strong> Package Manager </strong>to join our £1.2 billion<strong> Lower Thames Crossing</strong> project, consisting of 43 bridges, including <strong>viaducts</strong>, 17km of<strong> complex Highways construction</strong>, complex utility diversions, and a scheme-wide, industry leading approach to <strong>carbon reduction</strong>.<br><br><strong>Balfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities</strong> creating communities where people want to live work and play.<br><br>The <strong>Package Manager</strong> is responsible for the successful delivery of <strong>Topographical, Ground Investigation, Utility Trial, </strong>and <strong>Weathering Steel</strong> engineering surveys as part of the <strong>Lower Thames Crossing </strong>project.<br><br>What you'll be doing<br><br><ul><li>Health, Safety & Wellbeing: Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety regulations, best practices, and adherence to the Construction Phase Plan.</li><li>Programme: Plan all self-delivered works and coordinate/monitor the programme for subcontract/3rd party works.</li><li>Project Management: Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and timely project delivery.</li><li>Quality Assurance: Lead the management of quality, setting the required quality standards and ensuring the project team (foreman, engineers, subcontractors etc.)</li><li>Community: Provide relevant information to the communications team to ensure all stakeholders and the public are informed of the ongoing works in accordance with the communications plan.</li><li>Environmental Sustainability & Carbon: Liaise with the Environmental Manager to ensure compliance with the Projects Environmental Management Plan and carbon requirements for the scheme.</li><li>Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting any deviations from the project plan and proposing corrective actions.</li><li>Cost Management: Own the budget and maintain strict management and control of costs.</li><li>Procurement: Produce technical scope for invitation to tenders and complete the tender return assessments for all subcontracts.</li><li>Design Management: Attend design and RFI meetings with the Consultant and subcontractors and manage any change that arises as a result.</li><li>Handover: Work with the Quality Engineer to ensure handover requirements are clearly defined and understood by all.</li><li>Leadership: Manage and mentor Section/Site Engineers/Sub Agents for your scope of works<br><br></li></ul>Who we're looking for<br><br><ul><li>Proven experience in a similar role, preferably on large scale infrastructure projects</li><li>Strong leadership and communication skills</li><li>Knowledge of construction regulations and best practices.</li><li>Experience with NEC 3 / 4 contracts</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications, Competency & Prerequisites<br><br></strong><ul><li>Engineering or Construction Management qualification</li><li>Full UK drivers licence</li><li>A fit for work medical</li><li>CSCS</li><li>Pre-Start drug & alcohol test</li><li>BPSS Security Clearance.
