We are currently seeking an Outside Sales Engineer to join our dynamic sales team to cover our Madison, WI area. An Outside Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting sales executives in solution selling to prospects, executing strategic deals, modeling financial business cases, and matching customer requirements to proposed solutions. They possess technical expertise, strong communication and presentation skills. Job Responsibilities: • Proactively seeks and develops new business opportunities within assigned territory. • Actively calls on existing customers to foster growth and opportunity. • Plans and executes multiple sales calls and site visits on a weekly basis • Identifies and targets potential clients within the assigned territory with a focus on process engineers, procurement, and maintenance managers, through research, cold calls, networking. • Develops a thorough understanding of customers’ business goals and objectives, operating systems, and manufacturing processes. • Develops and executes strategies to generate a consistent pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities, emphasizing LPE’s ability to solve complex problems with high-value products and services. • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with decision-makers: making initial contact, introducing LPE’s product offering, and developing a rapport to identify customer needs. • Develops and maintains key customer contacts and activities for assigned accounts using Salesforce CRM. • Reviews customer activities monthly with Sales Manager and strategizing ways to maximize sales volumes and territory revenue growth. • Produces sales and gross margin growth to meet and exceed annual goals. • Increases market share for the products we represent within a defined geographical territory. • Develops new relationships within existing customers. • Completes company & factory training sessions to develop product knowledge. Qualifications: • **Ideal candidate lives in Madison, WI or 30-minutes west • Strong customer focus with the ability to initiate, develop, and maintain relationships. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation, and negotiation skills. • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. • Experience with pumps and valves (in Sanitary/High Purity or Industrial) is a plus • Proficiency in arenaflex Office suite and Outlook • Proactive, high energy and entrepreneurial; goal oriented and driven to exceed sales targets. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and prioritize accordingly. • Ability to develop thorough understanding of primary product offerings. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field is a plus • 5+ years’ experience in outside sales/account management Physical/Work Requirements: • This is a remote role that will require travel to customer sites, typically within a three-hour driving distance. • Must be able to lift to 50lbs occasionally.
