Join us, and let’s improve lives together.</b></span></p><p style="text-align:inherit">  </p><p><b>**This position can be performed remotely for candidates who reside in </b> <b> Pennsylvania.**</b></p><p></p><p><b>Essential Functions:</b></p><ul><li><p>Selects, grows, and maintains a profitable book of business for assigned middle market territory adhering to underwriting authority. Evaluates complex accounts, such as different business operations, multiple lines of business or special pricing requirements, for risk selection and pricing purposes.</p></li><li><p>Analyzes exposure, company and regional risk appetite, account premium and loss history, financial data, line(s) of business, price guidance, motor vehicle records, online sources of information, reports from premium audit or Loss Control and other relevant information to underwrite policies. Offers appropriate coverage, terms and conditions for exposures. </p></li><li><p>Develops and fosters agency relationships. Educates agents on EMC products, underwriting appetite, systems, and services.</p></li><li><p>Visits agencies to discuss accounts and provide agents with updates at EMC. Identifies opportunities and potential barriers within agency relationships.</p></li><li><p>Collaborates with marketing representatives to ensure agents receive superior customer experiences, responsiveness, and select EMC as their insurer of choice.</p></li><li><p>Effectively explains risk acceptance and/or rejection decisions to agents.  Seeks feedback from agents and takes action to improve their experience and grow strong books of business.</p></li><li><p>Coordinates with marketing and regional management in the agency planning and review processes. Monitors progress of assigned agents and guides agents in achieving annual goals.</p></li><li><p>Serves as a technical resource for underwriting team members.
