Responsibilities

This position assesses determines and coordinates placement of all transfers (elective and emergent) in accordance with clinical standards and guidelines. Ensures patient are placed in clinically appropriate level of care via established nursing exclusions. Responsible for coordinating all communication between transfer parties to ensure a timely seamless and safe patient transfers. Requires knowledge of specialty services offered EMTALA regulations transfer center processes and exceptional customer service skills.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

1. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse

2. 5 years of experience in nursing

3. 2 years of experience in critical care with advanced clinical assessment skills

4. Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

5. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

6. Ability to communicate effectively provide outstanding customer service and demonstrate teamwork.

7. Demonstrate knowledge and skill in utilization of computer application.

8. Demonstrate problem-solving skills.

9. Ability to work calmly in a stressful environment.

10. Ability to work in fast paced environment.

11. Ability to work independently.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing

2. Experience in progressive leadership and training as house coordinator

3. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of employment

4. Prior involvement in hospital/medical transfer processes
