Job Details

Salary Range:    $15.00 - $16.00

IDEAL CANDIDATE

LOOKING FOR A MOTIVATED, SENSITIVE, EMPATHETIC INDIVIDUAL EAGER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WITHIN A CREATIVE AND DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENT

 

Essential Duties: Within a group setting, works with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities to develop life skills both onsite and within the community.

  • Responsible for creating group activities and assisting with lesson plans.
  • Ensure job site and community field trips are safe for individuals.
  • Ensure that all individuals are supervised at all times.
  • Transport/escort individuals/clients on field trips within the community.
  • Complete documentation related to services provided.

Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Sets goals and objectives.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
  • Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
  • Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions ; Uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Initiative - Asks for and offers help when needed; Shares hobbies and skills that could benefit and enrich the program.

Qualifications


Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Motivated to work with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. 

Computer Skills

Will be required to document services utilizing an online Electronic Health Records system (with training).
