About the position Responsibilities • Serve as a senior manager in the Economic Research Group with responsibility for building, maintaining, testing, and validating economic forecasting models and econometric tools used to support our international analysis. • Develop specific expertise for one or more countries and assume responsibility for their economic outlook, including both baseline and alternative scenario forecasts. • Participate in consulting projects and write comprehensive reports on economic trends and forecasts. • Contribute to the Economic View website by providing real-time economic commentary and analysis. • Write and present research findings to clients, ensuring clear and concise communication of complex economic concepts. • Represent Moody's Analytics at professional conferences and industry events. • Provide support and guidance to clients on economic issues and forecasts. • Mentor and train our Associate Economists, fostering their development within the team. • Collaborate closely with modeling team members and other economists located across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Requirements • Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field. • At least ten years of experience conducting economic research, forecasting or quantitatively-focused policy analysis in business, government or academia. • A strong background in quantitative modeling and programming. • Firm understanding of modern macroeconomic theory and time series econometrics. • Ability to write clearly and insightfully for non-expert audiences on topics in international trade and finance, macroeconomic forecasting, banking, and credit markets. • Exceptional project management and interpersonal skills. • Ability to communicate technical subject matter clearly and concisely. • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Proactive, motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines.
