About the position

KeHE, a natural, organic, specialty and fresh food distributor, is looking for an Account Manager to design and execute sales and marketing programs for Alternate Channel account customers. This role is crucial for growing profitable base and vertical sales and new entity business. The position requires building and leveraging relationships with vendors, cross-functional teams, and the Retail Company's personnel. Success will be measured by the increase of profitable sales and deepened relationships within the account, all while aligning with KeHE's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Responsibilities

  • Increase sales at the account through analytical and fact-based selling.
  • Develop creative promotional plans and manage through to profitable execution.
  • Increase sales by finding new business opportunities and through consistent follow-up.
  • Hold internal and external business reviews targeting open selling opportunities.
  • Coordinate activities and communications among vendors and company functional groups.
  • Establish and maintain databases for promotions, price changes, cost changes, item maintenance, and other information regarding sales and marketing activities.
  • Maintain and foster an effective working relationship with both the retailer and our vendor partners.
  • Set and execute selling strategies with internal cross functional partners and retailers.
  • Collaborate with category management and senior sales management to produce specific sales objectives to assist in meeting the company's targeted sales growth.
  • Provide guidance on forecasting demand for new and promotional items.
  • Educate our customers on items and categories to keep them On Trend.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Transportation, and Supply Chain to maintain service level targets, on-time delivery performance, and other operational related focuses.
  • Work with a sense of urgency towards projects, requests, and deadlines.
  • Monitor competitor activities and recommend paths forward to address these activities.
  • Assure that established company policies and procedures are followed in achieving the above accountabilities.
  • Monitor all account receivables.

Requirements

  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Business.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in sales of grocery products to chain accounts.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Experience with retail merchandising, grocery category management, the consumer package goods industry, and/or the grocery industry.
  • Natural, specialty and or fresh product knowledge with the ability to recognize brands and trends.
  • Ability to work independently coordinating and prioritizing a high volume of work and meeting pressing time requirements.
  • Demonstrated willingness to take responsibility for personal actions, decisions, and results.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI is a plus.
  • Demonstrate skill and competency with all Microsoft Office software.
  • Possess a sense of urgency and attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Project management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced business environment.
  • Ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Capacity to learn and process quickly.
  • Willingness to travel domestically (30% travel).
